Well February flew by, and it looks like Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction of an earlier spring is spot on.  I hope this message finds you and your furry companions in good health and high spirits. As a valued member of our community, I wanted to share some important news with you.

Effective March 1, 2024, Pawfectly Delicious will implement a slight increase in the prices of our beloved dog treats (4-ounce, 8-ounce bags and monthly subscriptions). I understand that any change can be concerning, so in the interest of transparency, I wanted to take a moment to explain the reasons behind this decision.

1. Quality Commitment: At Pawfectly Delicious, we are committed to providing the highest quality, all-natural treats for your four-legged friends. To maintain this standard, we continually invest in sourcing premium ingredients and ensuring that our treats are handmade with love and care. 

2. Empowering Abilities: Our mission extends beyond creating delicious treats. We take immense pride in employing disabled adults who contribute their unique gifts and talents to every batch we make. By supporting us, you are directly empowering these incredible individuals and fostering a more inclusive community.

3. Sustainability: As a nonprofit organization, we rely on community support, grants, and donations. When our nonprofit organization began over five years ago our team consisted of four young men, who volunteered their time and received no compensation.  With hard work and support from a growing customer base, donors, and grant awards, we implemented a payroll system in the fall of 2021. Over the last five years, the cost of producing, packaging, and shipping our treats surged. Every ingredient, every lovingly crafted batch, and every package bore the weight of these rising costs. But we remained steadfast in our commitment to quality and purpose.  In the fall of 2023, we worked with a cost pricing analyst to examine our current pricing structure, market comparability and profit margins to determine if a price increase was warranted. By adding labor costs to our production expenses, we gained valuable insights. These data points allowed us to make informed decisions and implement necessary price adjustments.   

I am, along with our Board and team of employees, grateful for our faithful customers. You chose to invest not just in treats but in a social enterprise that places people over profit. Your support sustains our operations, allowing us to expand employment opportunities for disabled adults. Together, we continue to make a positive impact within our community. I recognize that there are myriad options when it comes to treating your fur babies. Yet, I hope you will continue to choose Pawfectly Delicious.
